10 Scholarships of € 7,200 each are available for the inter-University Master Degree in “Emerging Technologies for Construction” (ETeC), a collaborative effort between the School of Engineering of the University of Naples Federico II and the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering of the University of Missouri at Rolla (USA). Deadline for application is 9th February 2007.
ETeC aims at forming experts in new technologies for construction, with special attention to new structural materials, retrofit and upgrading of existing constructions (of historical/monumental interest also), innovative systems of structural response control, new monitoring and diagnostic technologies, advanced technologies of foundation and excavation engineering, seismic geotechnical engineering and wind engineering.
All EU and non-EU citizens holding, within the deadline indicated above, a University first-level degree (Bachelor degree or equivalent) of at least three years duration in one of the following areas, are eligible to apply:
• Architecture and/or Building Engineering.
• Civil and/or Environmental Engineering.
In addition, applicants must have a good certified knowledge of English. Non-EU citizens need to have a regular residence permit for Italy.
Courses, offered on a semester basis at both universities, will last 12 months and be given in English. To obtain the Master of ETeC degree (60 ECTS) awarded by University of Naples Federico II, at least one semester is to be spent at the USA University, which may also award a “Certificate” if at least 24 ECTS are gained from courses given by USA faculty members.
All 60 credits acquired can be recognized toward the “Laurea Specialistica in Ingegneria Strutturale e Geotecnica” (STReGA) offered by the School of Engineering of the University of Naples Federico II.
